A Place Called Fourbear
The Fourbear Labyrinth was created in 2021 on our property on Wadmalaw Island, a rural barrier island off the coast of Charleston, South Carolina. Many people name their rural properties in our area. We decided to call our place Fourbear. This made up name is the combination of Chris’ lucky number four and Bear the name of a beloved golden retriever that grew old on Jack’s family farm in upstate New York. Fourbear is not to be confused with the word forbear, thou the realization of our home and the labyrinth certainly did require forbearance on our part.
We are Jack and Chris and we welcome you to our sacred space called Fourbear Labyrinth. It is our hope that all who visit here find it to be a source of discovery, insight and renewal.
